Jet boats can stay on upper Rogue River

A proposal to ban jet-powered boats — including Rogue Jet Boat Adventures — from the upper Rogue River was defeated by the Oregon State Marine Board Thursday in Salem.

The five-member board unanimously agreed with staff to reject a petition from the Rogue FlyFishers Association and an upper Rogue landowner to ban jet boats upstream of TouVelle State Park. The petitioners had claimed the boats were a safety hazard to rafters, driftboaters and wading anglers.
