Brown appoints former Douglas County man to PERS task force

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown this week appointed seven Oregonians to a task force that will address the gap between the Public Employees Retirement System’s assets and the amount it is expected to owe retired workers in the years to come.

In a press release this week, Brown announced the task force will identify and rank options for reducing the PERS liability by $5 billion.
