Willamette reopens to all-week fishing, two-salmon limit

Salmon fishing in the lower Willamette River will reopen Thursday to seven days per week with a two-fish daily limit for hatchery spring chinook.

Tucker Jones, Columbia River programmanager for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, said Wednesday counts at Willamette Falls indicate the run will meet the 22,300 needed for wild-fish escapement and hatchery egg-taking in Willamette Valley hatcheries.
