Giant rainbow trout being released in Oregon lakes, including near Salem

Thousands of extra-large rainbow trout will be released at locations around the state this summer as the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife enters the second year of its “Trophy Trout” program, the agency said in a press release.

Bred to fight on the line, the “trophy trout” are classified as fish larger than 15 inches. ODFW will release 65,000 of the lunker fish at lakes around Oregon this summer.
