Good try on the local tech bill; better luck next time with Salem — Opinion

Too bad the effort to give Klamath County a boost didn’t fare better in the Legislature but at least the local area got something to build on.

The original version of HB 3206 included a handful of incentives and benefits for businesses locating in Klamath County or hiring Oregon Tech graduates. The bill made it through the House Committee on Revenue intact, but when passed by the House the only incentive left was a 12 percent tax break on training offered by Klamath Community College for employees of qualified businesses.
