Editorial: Election bill raises questions of fairness

Talk about meddling in elections.

The Oregon Legislature approved a $550 million health care tax bill to help fill the budget hole caused by the state’s expansion of Medicaid.

And then, looking ahead to the possibility that the bill would be referred to the ballot (a move that Republicans already have launched), Democrats in the Legislature arranged that any such election would be held in January 2018, instead of November, when these elections typically are held.
