New Oregon wildfires crop up in Lake County, Columbia River Gorge

Firefighters expanded their efforts in south-central Oregon and the Columbia River Gorge on Tuesday, responding to reports of new wildfires.

Officials have controlled a pair of fires that cropped up in Lake County: a fast-moving, 466-acre fire that prompted the evacuation of a building and the Hart Mountain Hot Springs Campground and a 980-acre blaze burning in dry grass and sagebrush near Alkali Lake.
