Hundreds have marked X for their gender on Oregon driver’s licenses, IDs

More than 200 people have changed the gender identification on their Oregon driver’s license or ID cards from an F or an M to an X. A rule change approved June 15 by the Oregon Transportation Commission enabled Oregonians who do not identify as either exclusively male or female to instead mark X. The X option could apply, for instance, to people who identify as neither gender or both or who simply do not wish to declare their gender identification.
