Oregon is about to get new rules governing everyone from rafting and fishing guides to those whose guiding is done on dry land. Those who wish to comment on the rules have until 5 p.m. Aug. 31, to do so.
The Oregon State Marine Board is preparing changes to the rules governing guides and outfitters and expects to adopt them at its Oct. 5 meeting in La Pine. It’s doing so not because of a disaster, but because the 2013 Legislature passed a law requiring that existing rules be updated. The changes don’t seem outrageous.
