Oregon insight: Working moms carry most of the parenting load

Most Oregon men and women with children work – but an analysis by Oregon Employment Department economist Jessica Nelson shows that women appear to be doing most of the heavy lifting at home.

Statewide, 93% of Oregon fathers work full- or part-time, according to Nelson’s findings. The equivalent number for women is 76%. (Both figures are roughly in line with national tallies.)
