Reservoirs off to good start for new year

As the 2019 irrigation season came to a close, and the new water year begins, one thing is certain: all four reservoirs in Malheur County are off to a good start for refilling.

Three of the them are at more than 40 percent of capacity, with Warm Springs Reservoir already half full and Owyhee Reservoir at 62 percent, with water still up around the concrete base of the spill way, according to Jay Chamberlin, manager of the Owyhee Irrigation District.
