In 2012, SoloPower opened the doors to its North Portland manufacturing facility with the promise of jobs for a city coming out of recession. The company is gone, but the public is still paying for it. How much? The City of Portland is writing a $119,000 check every month through next October. Multnomah County just wrote off one of their largest property tax bills in recent memory. Earlier this year, the state wrote off millions more.
