Citing ‘unlawful lockout,’ Oregon nurses will continue to picket Providence hospitals

Providence will keep the temporary nurses through Sunday, saying staff nurses only need to report for work if they are contacted.

Oregon nurses accuse Providence of breaking the law and not allowing them to work immediately when the strike ends.

The planned extension of picketing marks another turn in a bitter labor dispute and the largest nurse strike in Oregon history.
