Social Security recipients and most other federal beneficiaries should see direct deposit stimulus payments by April 7.

The IRS and the Treasury Department finally have a payment date for the millions of Social Security recipients and most other federal beneficiaries who do not have to file tax returns.

The majority of their stimulus payments will be sent electronically, with an official payment date of April 7, according to the announcement Tuesday.
