Oregon Senate Democrats elect Kathleen Taylor new caucus leader

Oregon Senate Democrats elected Sen. Kathleen Taylor, a second-term senator from Southeast Portland, as Senate majority leader in a closed-door meeting Monday.

Taylor will step into the role on July 15, according to a press release, replacing Kate Lieber of Beaverton, who is stepping down to serve as co-chair of the powerful budget writing committee.
