State agency aims to ‘spend more time in communities’

Business Oregon, the state’s agency for economic development and business community, is heavily invested in Malheur County. That’s why the county was one of the first counties that Director Chris Harder visited last week while on a tour to find out the status of projects and further needs.

Harder was accompanied last week by a team of nine staff members for what he called bringing the department to the region. He said this trip was a special focus as the department has people located throughout the state, and he, himself, has been around to most counties.
