Forest Grove contractor fined nearly $40,000 for safety violations

A Forest Grove contractor is in hot water with the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration for allegedly failing to protect its workers.

J&K Roofing Co. has been ordered to pay a $39,000 penalty. Regulators say the fine is for repeatedly violating a requirement to provide protective systems for J&K’s workers — including safeguards to protect its employees from fall hazards that could result in injury or death.
