Neil Goldschmidt, former Portland mayor and Oregon governor, dies at 83

Neil Goldschmidt, whose years as Portland mayor, U.S. transportation secretary and Oregon governor will be forever overshadowed by his sexual abuse of a young girl, has died.

His family confirmed Wednesday, June 12, that he died of heart failure four days shy of his 84th birthday.
