State piles on jobs as unemployment hovers at 4.1 percent

January’s job growth (on top of 9,800 jobs added in December) came in private education services (up 1,100 jobs), construction (up 1,000) and manufacturing (up 800).

Oregon’s historically low unemployment rate held steady in January at 4.1 percent as the state added about 5,000 jobs.
