Tariff hikes pose threat of making U.S. wheat producers non-competitive
Without trade agreements, tariffs on the rise.
In a presentation made earlier, Blake Rowe, CEO of the Oregon Wheat Growers League said that U.S. wheat producers will be at a disadvantage with the U.S. not participating in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership. This is a free-trade agreement among Pacific Rim nations, which the Trump administration elected to pull out of, which had it beginnings as the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
