My View: Today’s nuclear power is a con game

Recently Pamplin Media published an editorial by Micah DeSilva urging that “Oregon should let voters reconsider clean nuclear power.” DeSilva’s plea was backed by misleading arguments that are typical of what we have come to expect from pro-nuclear power advocates.

Specifically: DeSilva claims the ballot measure that halted the construction of new nuclear plants in Oregon — which was approved by a majority of Oregon voters — passed because the public was scared by the Three Mile Island accident.
